Events Junket: KICS, UET to Host IoT Workshop

By 2020 it is expected that the number of interconnected IoT devices is going to reach up to 50 billion. Technology Leaders like CISCO, IBM, Google, Qualcomm, Microsoft are showing keen interests in IoT, and it has become one of the most hyped technologies in the world right now.

KICS, which is the incubator at University of Engineering, (Lahore) is organizing a workshop to familiarize and introduce the basic concepts of IoT, its technical background, the popular IoT applications and its global market leaders. The objective of the workshop is to empower students and professionals with the practical understanding of IoT Hardware as well as Software in addition to theoretical background of the technology.

At the workshop one can learn how to implement and control IoT devices such as RaspberryPi, Arduino, ESP8266 module, etc. and also how to interface them with the Internet and Cloud.

The industry and the academia will be partaking in the workshop to talk all things IoT. The workshop is expected to take place on 27th February 2017 at Al-Khawarizmi Institute of Computer Science (KICS), UET Lahore from 9:30am to 5:00pm.
