StormFiber Expands Fiber-optic Network to Parts of Islamabad, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur

StormFiber’s fiber-optic services have now been extended to Bahawalpur, Sahiwal, and sections of Islamabad, following its success in eleven major cities across the country.

StormFiber, which is known for offering high-speed fiber-optic broadband to residents of Karachi, Lahore, Hyderabad, Multan, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Peshawar, and Quetta, is rapidly expanding its fiber-optic network as part of its aim to digitise Pakistan.

These debuts come at a time when people rely on internet services for everything from online learning to streaming to e-commerce. StormFiber’s fiber-optic services will allow users to take use of fibre broadband, a technology that allows customers to access ultra-fast internet with minimal downtime.
Bahawalpur and Sahiwal, two places known for their immense agricultural importance and rich historical culture, present a rich reservoir of emerging talent. With various ginning facilities, Sahiwal, the country’s cotton centre, contributes a significant portion of textile and cotton production.

Bahawalpur, Pakistan’s 11th most populous city and also known as the “City of Nawabs,” is home to a wealth of historical sites and landmarks. The introduction of gigabit technology in such locations is intended to provide economic prospects and aid socioeconomic growth. StormFiber’s much-anticipated service in Islamabad has also finally begun.

Access to a reliable internet connection powered by a 100 percent fiber-optic network is also likely to boost the growing start-up and entrepreneurial culture in cities such as Bahawalpur and Sahiwal, allowing them to thrive in the ecosystem.

Mr. Fawad Yousuf Laher, Managing Director of StormFiber, shared, “About a decade ago, the realisation and motivation to provide the people of Pakistan with high-speed internet set us on a journey to ensure empowerment in our country through robust internet services that are essential for intellectual, social, and economic development set us on a journey to ensure empowerment in our country through robust internet services which are essential for intellectual, social, and economic development.”

“Today, as we expand our services into the country’s agricultural hubs, we are confident that our ultra-fast internet service will aid the economic engines of Bahawalpur and Sahiwal, resulting in increased GDP. We’ve also started StormFiber operations in Islamabad, beginning with G15 and expanding to other sections of the country.

“This marks as a major milestone in our vision of a better-connected Pakistan with ultra-fast broadband services, which is a critical need of the hour,” Mr. Maroof Ali Shahani, Chief Operating Officer, Cyber Internet Services, said of these expansions.

StormFiber demonstrates that it is not only focusing on metropolitan cities but also reaching out to remote areas so that the entire country can have consistent ultra-fast broadband service, ushering in a new era of digitally connected Pakistani citizens, by launching its services in relatively smaller, yet important, cities in Pakistan.

The deployment of FTTH infrastructure across Pakistan’s major cities in such a short period of time is undoubtedly a significant step forward, intended to boost the country’s economic engine and provide inhabitants with the benefits of a high-speed internet connection.
