In conversation with the Chief Information Officer – Pakistan International Airlines, Azhar Nawaz, shared his vision for the digital transformation journey at the national carrier. He announced the launch of their online check in facility which is now officially accessible through their website.
While speaking to IDG, CIO of the national flag carrier said that one of the projects their team is most proud of is the ‘digital cockpit’ – an idea that was first introduced by PIA in the local aviation industry. The launch of their online checkin facility is yet another milestone for PIA which is well on its way to a 360° digitization.
Currently the service is only valid for domestic operations and limited to flights between Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad, particularly helpful for those who are traveling without luggage.
PIA passengers traveling within the country (at least between these three cities for now!) no longer need to queue up and will be able to checkin online through the website.
The application launch of PIA is due in the immediate future and we’re hoping the service will bring a lot more convenience to passengers!
