COMSTECH to Showcase AI, IoT Products and Services for Pakistan 

COMSTECH, CARE (Pvt) Ltd, Ministry of Science and Technology, and the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) are collaborating for the 1st showcase of AI and IoT products and services for Pakistan. The COMSTECH showcasing of Artificial Intelligence and IoT Products and Services: AI and IoT for Pakistan will foster interest in science, technology, innovation, and popularise the field of artificial intelligence among the youth of Pakistan. The showcase will be held on 4-5 August 2020, at the COMSTECH Secretariat Islamabad.
The national showcasing has been designed to promote projects and innovations in the realm of artificial intelligence and allied technologies. It is a showcasing of next-generation technologies, solutions, and strategies from all over Pakistan, to provide an opportunity to explore and discover the practical and successful implementation of the AI and allied technologies in Pakistan.
Prof Dr. M Iqbal Choudhary, coordinator general, COMSTECH, flanked by senior officials from MoITT, shared while addressing a joint press conference here on Tuesday.

Fostering Innovation

In his briefing, he mentioned that the event was aimed at stimulating youth interest in the sphere of innovation, and in high-tech areas of technology. This is a national-level exhibition, offering a unique platform for innovators, technology developers, and service providers. This is aimed at young professionals who are eager and ready to share experience and professional skills with end-users to appreciate the importance of this field and foster linkages for development in national economic growth.

The event will also provide the opportunity to network with relevant ministries, industry R&D organizations, academia, strategic organizations, and peers. This two-day event will be open for the general public and potential customers to visit, the COMSTECH coordinator general informed.

Artificial Intelligence is the most promising field in the next-generation information technology. AI has the potential to boost the national economy in several areas, and enhance exports to many folds. Countries around the globe are strategizing to take maximum benefit from the AI, he added.

On behalf of the organizing committee, COMSTECH coordinator general invited the general public to visit this mega event. He shares, “Under the patronage of the president of Pakistan, Pakistan is emerging as a major global player in this technology. By aligning with global future demands and training human resources with valuable skills in the IT. Also providing an enabling environment to boost the digital economy. We already witnessing increasing IT exports and assistance in the creation of knowledge-based jobs”.
